Inch springs are available in Inch and ISO color codes.  Metric springs are available in ISO and JIS color codes.

Inch Color Codes:
Blue – Medium Pressure
Red – Medium Heavy Pressure
Gold – Heavy Pressure
Green – Extra Heavy Pressure

ISO Color Codes:
Green – Light Duty
Blue – Medium Duty
Red – Heavy Duty
Yellow – Extra Heavy Duty

JIS Color Codes:
Yellow – Extra Light Duty
Blue – Light Duty
Red – Medium Duty
Green – Heavy Duty
Brown – Extra Heavy Duty

Dayton springs are made from pre-tempered chrome silicon wire to improve dimensional accuracy, minimize high-stress cracking, optimize the working life of press and mold dies, and help reduce downtime.  All Dayton springs are stress relieve after coiling, then compressed to solid to enhance fatigue life.   They are ground square at both ends, then shot-peened to further help reduce stress and extend spring life.  All finished springs are electro-statically coated with a durable, anti-corrosive vinyl, and color-coded for easy identification of load ranges.

Dayton springs are designed to meet or exceed ISO and/or JIS standards.
